For immediate release

My name is Ozzie Grandinetti and I want to be your mayor.

Yes, I was once a councilor in this town, but for four years I’ve been a blue-collar citizen and I’m as angry as you are.

I’m angry that I can’t drive my truck down any street without worrying about a pothole. I’m angry that this current council doesn’t seem to care what citizens want and I’m angry about where my tax money is going.

When I was on council, I spoke out against nepotism, high taxes, high building permit fees and rising user fees. These are always at the top of my list, but I have so much more to add.

You see, I want you, the hardworking men and women in our community, those who don’t believe their vote counts on Election Day, to know that it does. I have a list of things I want to change in this community, but the first thing I commit to doing is freezing your municipal taxes.

  • I believe that by doing a forensic audit of each department, we can find the money to do this.
  • I believe that selling all of our surplus goods on the open market during this boom can help achieve this.
  • I believe in not spending money on projects that continually go over budget, even if that means canceling them.
  • I believe in not spending money on projects that are not needed (like new roads and buildings) etc. Together we can help make it happen.

I envision a prosperous downtown and I think we can achieve this in a number of ways. I want to consider a private/public partnership to bring much needed affordable housing to downtown. I promise to work with local agencies to address the root cause of downtown’s problems, not just to implement band-aid solutions.

With everything said, I want to hear from you. I want to know what you want our city to do, beyond my visions.

I will listen to your ideas, develop my plan, and share with you the many reasons why I should be your next mayor. In the next few weeks, I will launch a website, in the meantime, you can reach me on Facebook or by writing to me at [email protected].
