Los Angeles Rockers FIME are back – not only with a stellar single/video – but also with the announcement of their debut album sweeter memory which will arrive in July. The new single, “White Collar Gold” brings together all the exceptional talents of the group in a slow but emphatic rager. There are suitably fuzzy riffs and loud drumming, while all four members – Beto Brakmo, Maxine Garcia, Eric Promani and Scott Leahy – can be heard giving their best moans as it all comes crashing down.

“White Collar Gold,” with its post-hardcore chorus and loud anthems, signals the kind of exuberance fans expect with sweeter memory. The video for the new single, directed by Hailey Ruffner, was shot inside the Offbeat Bar in Highland Park before it opened to the public. There’s no small nostalgia in the vintage glow of the bar lights as Brakmo enters the room, looking impossibly regal in his Mariachi costume.

Sitting at the bar – the other band members scattered around – they begin to slowly gather as the song begins to intensify. Eventually, the whole bar is raging, a clear nod to the catharsis of the shows after two years away, and we even see Brakmo outside riffing his guitar at a lone audience member who jams his music. The music video for “White Collar Gold” exemplifies the kind of soulful feelings we all seek to feel amid such music. And if you’re looking for more FIME to listen to, they released a single last year “Born 2 Love” and their debut Spread EP in 2019!

“But personally, I think what excited me the most was my mariachi (charo) costume,” Brakmo said. “When I was a kid growing up in Mexico, I always saw Mariachi people wearing these beautiful costumes and I thought, ‘That’s what real musicians wear!’ So when I finally had an excuse to buy one, I jumped at this idea.
