If you’re neglecting clothes because they don’t fit or need a little TLC, here’s how to sew and save.
KIT KEYS: You don’t need an expensive sewing kit.
Amazon.co.uk The 94 piece travel sewing kit has everything you need for £3.99.
Aldi.fr are currently selling the Midi So Crafty sewing machine for £34.99. It’s a great price.

REPAIR : Cut any loose threads from the inside seams of the garments and thread them through a needle, then sew over the rips and holes.
There is an excellent free guide to loveyourclothes.org.uk which details what to do step by step.
DOUBLE DENIM: If parts of your denim jeans are worn out, you can use hemming in a clever way.
Check how much fabric there is then if there is enough, cut a small section and place this part over the worn area, while your jeans are inside out.
Sew in place and that should ensure your jeans last a little longer.
DIY TAILOR: If the clothes are loose around the waist, turn the item inside out, grab the excess fabric and draw a line on the fabric where it meets your waist.
Take it off, sew along the line while it’s still inside out, and when you put it on it should conform to your curves.
For loose waistbands on jeans and pants, try the TikTok hack of threading a shoelace through the waistband and then tying tightly at the back.
TURN ON: Sometimes a stain on a lightweight garment can’t be moved, but you can use an iron-on transfer to cover it.
Custom transfers start from 70p on Etsy, or update garments with small accessories such as new buttons.
This season’s heart-shaped buttons can be found for as little as 72p each.
Cut the old and sew the new to bring your old wardrobe to life this season.
