Nike have launched the new Liverpool home kit for the 2022/23 season and it features one major change.
The shirt, a simple red design which pays homage to ‘Scouse solidarity’ according to the club, features the eternal flame in honor of the victims of the Hillsborough disaster, but for the first time the number will be 97. usually features the flame and the number 96 but is now 97 in recognition of Andrew Stanley Devine, the 97th person unlawfully killed following the Hillsborough disaster.
The jersey also featured the initials YNWA – the club’s motto, You’ll Never Walk Alone – on the sleeve details.

The kit is available for pre-order on the Liverpool FC website and on Nike HERE or HERE.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said: “We are all very proud to wear the Liverpool FC shirt and to be part of the family at the swoosh. We know exactly what this shirt means to our fans, and we can’t wait to wear it at Anfield.
Henderson is featured in a campaign video launched by the club. It also includes fellow male players Virgil Van Dijk, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Curtis Jones, Luis Diaz, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Ibrahima Konate, as well as manager Jurgen Klopp, who unleashes his fist pump. Also featured are Liverpool Women’s manager Matt Beard, along with members of his squad Missy Bo-Kearns, Taylor Hinds and Leighanne Robe, along with Scouse musician Kieo (Boss Nights) and local boxer Natasha Jonas. . Liverpool Stone band provide the soundtrack.
The club have introduced a new Liverpool name and number style for the back of the kit, which also takes inspiration from the city, with a contemporary take on historic Liverpool street signs. The product is printed with water-based inks as a more durable option and will be worn for cup competitions and friendly matches.
The kit will be available in men’s, women’s and junior sizes, and in match and stadium versions. Shirts can also be personalized with a Premier League name and number or a Women’s Super League name and number. The Women’s Super League patch will be available in June when a new design is revealed.
