NZ Music T-Shirt Day returns to raise funds for MusicHelps in 2022.

New Zealand Music Day T-Shirt is back to raise funds for MusicHelps, an essential charity that provides support to Kiwi music workers in need. New Zealanders are encouraged to wear their favorite local musical product on Friday May 27 and donate to the appeal which has raised over $60,000 since its launch in 2019.

MusicHelps supports those who use music to help New Zealanders in need. This year, through its project partners, it has made a difference for over 70,000 people across Aotearoa who live with disabilities, serious health conditions or who are at risk and vulnerable. All this is made possible thanks to the commitment of
MusicHelps supporters who see the difference music makes in the lives of New Zealanders.

“If you share our belief in the power of music, then it’s time to get on board and put on your T-shirt! We encourage companies that are serious about promoting their values of wellness, inclusion and love for all things New Zealand music to get involved. MusicHelps“, declares the president of MusicHelpsAnthony Healy.

Kervin Farr, CEO of MIX – Connecting Creating Living, a community mental health day service offering music therapy, art and wellness programs, said: “The support of
MusicHelps is an essential resource for organizations like MIX, it allows us to offer programs/activities that we would not otherwise be able to afford.

Support
MusicHelps extends to the very people who bring us the music we love. From singers to sound engineers, from managers to musicians,
MusicHelps has helped over 70,000 people in the local music community with mental health, counseling and financial services. The service is available to anyone involved in Aotearoa’s music industry to ensure people are supported when they need it most, and does so through emergency grants, the MusicHelps charitable fund, Covid-19 financial relief payments and its Wellness Service, a 24/7 helpline providing urgent counseling services to music workers.

Musician Bella Cook (Belladonna) also commented: “Last year I had nothing left after my house burned down. A friend of mine recommended that I contact
MusicHelpsbut I never expected their support to change my life so much. MusicHelps
supported me financially to replace all the music equipment I had lost in the fire. In an industry that can sometimes feel so isolated, I felt so supported and cared for. I was able to get back on my feet and making music in no time. I cannot express how much support from
MusicHelps meant to me.

New Zealand Music Day T Shirts is poised to become a favorite fundraising event during New Zealand Music Month. This year’s event will raise much-needed funds for grants to those who use music to help and heal, as well as support the music community in any challenges they may face in the future.
