Screenwriter for Spiral: excerpt from Saw’s book and the Seen movies, Josh Stolberg, recently gave fans an update on the show’s next installment, calling it “the most favorite yet.” Launched in 2004, the horror thriller franchise became a fan favorite and starred A-list actors Samuel L. Jackson, Danny Glover and Chris Rock.

A fan downloaded a poster from Cinemarvellous’ Facebook page with the caption “#SawX will take place before the events of Saw III, and its story will be told from Kramer’s point of view as opposed to the trappings. Tagging Stolberg, he asked, “Is there any truth to that?”

The official poster features a single bloodstained piece of a puzzle in a woman’s hand, with the words “The Last Piece of the Puzzle”.

Although he didn’t say much about the plot of the tenth film, Stolberg replied:

“I can’t comment on anything that hasn’t been officially announced by #TwistedPictures or @Lionsgate. What I can tell you is that this is my favorite script of the three #Saw movies that I’ve have written.

In December, another Seen The screenwriter, Pete Goldfinger, also seemed thrilled to be back at work on a follow-up. Goldfinger took to Twitter to share an update, tagging Twisted Pictures film co-founder and producer Oren Koules, as well as Stolberg in his caption:

“The band is back! And @Saw comes along… (and that’s me down there with notes from Hawaii that everyone knows are twice as scary…) @OrenKoules @joshstolberg.

Stolberg had reposted the same photo with a different caption, which gave Kramer fans hope that his character, who had already been killed off, would return to the screen in the upcoming project.

“Back with my horror family, polishing the next script @Saw. I could tell you there will be blood, but you already know that. What I can promise you is that it will make the John Kramer fans very happy!!!”” he wrote at the time.

Additional details on the film are limited at this time, but Stolberg’s continued enthusiasm for the project is already having nervous fans. The director/screenwriter is also known for other gore-fest movies Piranha 3D, Piranha 3DD and Tidy sorority.
